DEBBIE'S EVANGELISM MATERIAL By Debbie McGoldrick |
|
Intercede: Pray for your neighbors. Prayer walk your neighborhood. Gather believers in your subdivision to pray with you. You can pray specifically for those homes for sale, that God would fill those homes with families hungry to know Christ personally or Christians who desire to know Christ personally. Also, pray that he would keep out all forms of evil. Invest: Look for ways to build relationships. Get involved as God leads in neighborhood functions, tennis teams, play groups, social clubs, etc. Also, look for ways to serve or give. For example: make meals for the sick, welcome new neighbors with a plate of cookies, at Christmas hand deliver a card, baked good or small gift. Initiate and Invite: Take the steps as God leads to plan an evangelistic women's coffee, neighborhood Bible study, couples chili cook-off, or a children's Bible Club. Invitations can be phoned, tacked to mailboxes, mailed or written as announcements in neighborhood newsletters. Additional Resources: Neighborhood Bible Study Series Bible study material designed for neighborhood studies. The Joy of Hospitality by Vonette Bright and Barbara Ball-this book gives ideas and examples from actual outreaches. |
