My first writing assignment with our team was about a former drug dealer from Milwaukee named Donnell.
Donnell’s family received food from a local church through the Here’s Life Inner City’s Boxes of Love outreach, then he came to a church service after the pastor invited him. That day, Donnell placed his gun in the offering bucket and gave his life to Christ.
Many of his family members came to Christ because they noticed how God changed him.
When I visited Milwaukee for “Milwaukee Journal”, I didn’t see Donnell, but I learned he is still walking with the Lord. In fact, the week after I was in town, he was scheduled to speak to the students there for a summer outreach.
