Back Story: From Under the Bed

I’m glad Paul Kelley didn’t take my call. “Ted,” he said, “I’m going to have to call you back.”

A few minutes later, I found out, he was offering Jesus to his teenage neighbor, Stanley, who prayed and received Christ right there. The next morning at Paul’s church, Stanley was there. As I spent more time with Paul (left with neighborhood kids), Barbara, Johnny, Zachary, Gary, Matthew and even their two dogs, I observed that they really had a special connection with their neighborhood. When the Kelley garage door was open, kids would flock from every corner.

As a photojournalist, I get to step into folks’ lives and tell their stories. But it often strengthens my desire to be more bold and purposeful in seeing others come to Christ.
