A few nights before leaving Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Holly Menzer was out walking when a young woman she had never met ran up to her and asked, “Are you from America?” Ijilee (EACH-ley) Tolya wanted to practice her English, so Holly (left, on left), a staff member with Campus Crusade for Christ’s Keynote ministry, brought her to the Campus Crusade student center nearby.

There, she introduced Ijilee (left, middle) to Mongolian staff member Bolormaa (BOH-tra) Tserengombo.

The three began talking about the Bible and what a relationship with God is. Holly explained the Four Spiritual Laws booklet in English to Ijilee while Bolormaa translated. When Holly asked Ijilee if a relationship with God was something she wanted, she said, “Yes, yes.” After the prayer, she said, “I am so happy!”

After Holly returned to the States, Bolormaa continued to meet with Ijilee to encourage her in her new relationship with Christ. “My life is changed,” says Ijilee.

Bolormaa says, “Mongolian students are very open to hearing about God; they are hungry for good news.” Ijilee had many questions, and Bolormaa was able to point her to the answers in the Bible.

Ijilee recently graduated from the National University of Mongolia and keeps in touch periodically with Holly and Bolormaa through the social networking website Facebook, and Skype, an internet phone application.
