Madagascar is an island nation, where at least 14 different languages are spoken in an area roughly the size of the West Coast of the United States. To overcome this obstacle, the JESUS Film Project® and Wyclliffe Bible Translators formed a partnership in 2004. Initially targeting five native tongues, the two organizations worked to translate and distribute the gospel throughout the country to the people speaking these languages.
Now, a new plan is underway to initiate five more language translations to be distributed in an effort to give every person in Madagascar an opportunity to hear about Jesus.
