The highlight of the semester for Ellyn Purpero was a visit from Amanda Hill, a staff member with MK2MK, the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ that helps meet the needs of “missionary kids” even when they’re no longer overseas with their parents. Ellyn (left, second from left) grew up in Italy and Germany, and is now a freshman at the University of Kentucky.
“I felt really encouraged by their visit,” Ellyn says. “They want to make sure I’m OK and to continue to see how I’m doing.”
“If you are sending missionaries, you want them to be healthy to stay there,” says Amanda (above, center), and that includes helping their kids succeed in college. They are also helping these students to become leaders.
Ellyn and several other MKs plan to be interns on an MK2MK mission trip to Ethiopia this summer, training and mentoring other MKs.
